@dotstdy Learn Python The Hard Way by Zed Shaw takes discipline but is very much worth it.

@dotstdy If they've never programmed before then this might be useful. It starts with very simple text and builds towards python statements. Can't say if it's effective as I'd been programming for a long while when I found it but it looks interesting and I think the theory of learning is good https://www.hedy.org/
